Brad Hicks has worked as a professional artist, in the film industry as well as the fine art world for 28 years. A highlight of his career was working on seven Feature Animated Films at Walt Disney Feature Animation Studios: “Treasure Planet”, “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”, “The Emperor’s New Groove”, “Tarzan”, “Mulan”, “Hercules”, and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, as a Background Painter. Each film took a completely different approach, which required versatility and a breadth of technical excellence. Brad went on to work for Big Idea Studios, helping to produce their first Feature Animated film “Jonah” as their Color Concept Designer. In 2008, he worked with Vanguard Animation in the Visual Development department on their 3D Feature Animated film, “Space Chimps”. He just finished his 12th Theatrical release as a Color & Texture Designer and Matte Painter for Crest 3D Feature Animated film: “Alpha and Omega”. “The wide breadth of my visual development experience, and technical knowledge, makes me versatile and comfortable in any creative enterprise. My goal in every project is to produce the ultimate aesthetic, which uses all the best of composition, design, color, texture and mood.”
