Mentored by Master Harry Carmean in Academic draughtsmanship.

After graduating from Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena CA in 1986,  I stuck around under the mentorship of an amazing teacher, draughtsman, Harry Carmean. He stressed the importance of drawing from life in order to experience the three dimensionally of form. To sketch the whole before the parts. To be knowledgeable in the geometry of a subject’s anatomy, and to be a student of Masters from past.  Some time later my favorite drawing session was Disney's Monday lunch- time “costume figure, quick sketch”.  Capturing the emotion and attitude of human gestures is such a challenging thrill. Today, I attempt to retain these qualities in my design work and at  play.
